As well as offering courses specifically designed for Christian Science nurses,
Charton Manor offers a 2 day Overview Workshop for any Christian Scientist interested
in getting an insight into the rudiments of Christian Science nursing. It covers the
history of Christian Science nursing, the Church Manual By-Law, the ethics required in
Christian Science nursing and some basic skills. It is aimed at those interested in:
seeking the spiritual foundation of Christian Science nursing, finding out more about
Christian Science nursing, looking to see if Christian Science nursing is for them,
finding out more about the function of the Houses and Visiting Nurse Services, and
being more helpful to fellow church members. There is no charge for the cost of tuition
but accommodation at Charton Manor costs the usual Rest and Study rate of
£66.00 per day full board. Financial assistance is available
for anyone unable to meet the cost of the accommodation. Please make your need
known when applying. Classes run from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. on each of the days. Clothing should be light and comfortable as some practice is included. There is a full Study Room with Concord, Found Volumes and CSAF (a web based article finder for the periodicals) computer concordances, and you can research any books in the Training Centre Reference Library.
