Christian Science Nursing Practice III
This course consists of six weeks’ classroom tuition and is for those who have demonstrated competence in all their Christian Science nursing skills and judgements and who have had the necessary practical experience. All Christian Science nursing skills are reviewed, with greater emphasis on nursing judgements and combining and adapting skills. A readiness to learn supervisory responsibilities in a Christian Science nursing facility is also required.

Subjects covered in this Course include:
1. Ethics III – evaluating challenging Christian Science nursing situations and making wisedecisions based on a clear understanding of ethics. Exploring ethical requirements for effective leadership as a Charge Nurse in a Christian Science Nursing Facility.
2. Christian Science Nursing Facility Organisation Structure – gaining an understanding and appreciation of the administrative aspects and an inspired metaphysical view of running a Christian Science Nursing Facility.
3. Role and Responsibilities of the Christian Science Charge Nurse - gaining a spiritually inspired understanding of how to practically run a nursing floor in a Christian Science Nursing Facility on a day to day basis.
4. Introduction to On-the-Job-Instruction – cherishing Christian Science student nurses and fostering their Christian Science nursing practice.
5. Christian Science Nursing Care Skills III – review of complete previous course content with focus on competent nursing judgment and instruction of others involved in Christian Science nursing care.
6. Childcare II– Mother and Baby – gaining a basic understanding of how to care for a mother and young baby within the legal framework of the UK and on the metaphysical foundation of the Bible and the writings of Mary Baker Eddy.
7. Public Speaking, Instruction, Meetings – Including the understanding and practice of how to share one’s understanding and inspiration of the healing ministry of the Christian Science nurse with a church audience / gaining a basic understanding of how to instruct Christian Science student nurses / and how to prepare, lead and record staff meetings.
8. Roles and Responsibilities for Christian Science Nurses outside the Christian Science Nursing Facility – review of Christian Science Home Nursing, Introduction to Christian Science Camp nursing, Christian Science nursing in an educational facility or residential setting etc.
Tuition for Christian Science Nursing Practice III is £1,575. This fee will be paid by Charton Manor or Lime Tree House if you elect to do the work experience/on-the-job portion of the course at either House. Room and board in Charton Manor staff accommodation is currently £65.00 per week.
