Christian Science Nursing Practice I
This comprehensive course consists of eight weeks’ classroom tuition and is open to those who have satisfactorily completed the Christian Science Nursing Introductory Course (or its equivalent) and have had the necessary practical experience.

Thorough and in-depth instruction will be given in the following areas:
1. Ethics I – Reviewing and deepening the understanding of the fundamental importance of ethics for the healing ministry of the Christian Science nurse. Moral standards and responsibilities.
2. Standards and Regulations – their impact on the practice of the Christian Science nurse and the Christian Science nursing facility (U.K. oriented).
3. Communication I – Developing informal and formal communication skills.
4. Home Nursing I - First Introduction to a Christian Science Visiting Nurse Service and private Christian Science nursing.
5. Reading Aloud I – supporting Christian Science healing by ministering to the patient’s spiritual needs. How to read aloud with understanding and meaning from the Bible, the writings of Mary Baker Eddy and other Christian Science literature published by The Christian Science Publishing Society.
6. Christian Science Nursing Care Skills I – meeting the individual patient’s practical needs prayerfully and skilfully. Includes Bedcare, Food, Mobility, Moving and Handling, Mental Needs etc.
Tuition for Christian Science Nursing Practice I is £2,100. This fee will be paid by Charton Manor or Lime Tree House if you elect to do the work experience/on-the-job portion of the course at either House. Room and board in Charton Manor staff accommodation is currently £65.00 per week.
