This course consists of three weeks’ classroom study, followed by
a period of work experience/on-the-job experience in the nursing department
here at Charton Manor. Trainees may elect to take their work
experience/on-the-job experience at any other Christian Science nursing facility or under the
supervision of a Journal-listed Christian Science nurse working in the Field.
Subjects covered in the Introductory Course include: |

Introduction to Ethics – First exploration of Christian
Science nursing as firmly rooted in the Bible and the writings of Mary Baker Eddy,
the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science |
| 2. |
Basic Concepts of Christian Science Nursing Care –
metaphysical foundation and their application in the healing ministry of the
Christian Science nurse. |
| 3. |
The Organisation of a Christian Science Nursing Facility
– Introduction to the standards governing a Christian Science nursing facility
and the role of the Christian Science nurse within it. |
| 4. |
Introduction to Communication
- essential communication skills in support of Christian Science healing |
| 5. |
Safety in the Christian Science Nursing Environment
– metaphysical foundation, legal considerations and their practical
implementation |
| 6. |
Elementary Christian Science Nursing Care Skills
– relative to the standard of the Christian Science Nurse in the Church
Manual By-Law Art. VIII, Sect 31. |

The fee for the classroom portion of the course is £3,200 and for the On-the-Job Instruction portion £2,400.
Successful candidates will receive full sponsorship from either Hawthorne
Trust Limited or Mountlands Trust Limited. |
