How much is Rest & Study?
£66.00 a day or £330.00 per week.
This rate is subsidised by Hawthorne Trust Limited as a “thank you” to branch
church members for their support over many years.
How much does it cost to have Christian Science nursing care at Charton Manor?
The daily room and board rate which includes all meals, drinks and snacks, and
laundry service is
£90.00. Nursing care is charged at
£29.45 per hour.
What if I cannot afford the fees?
We ask that patients contribute only what they can reasonably afford. Grants
for the balance are available from The Aid Fund for Christian Scientists in
Need of Nursing Care.
What is the procedure for applying for a grant from the Aid Fund?
The Administrator will provide you with an application form which asks you a
few questions about your income and outgoings. This information is treated in
the strictest of confidence and no member of the Christian Science nursing staff or Board have
access to this information.
Why do I have to declare my income and outgoings?
Because the Aid Fund is a registered charity. The Trustees of the Aid Fund have
a statutory obligation ensure that grants only go to those in need of them.
What if I do have savings? Does that disqualify me from applying for a grant?
Having savings does NOT disqualify you from receiving a grant.
How much do I have to have in savings before I am ineligible for a grant?
It depends on your income and outgoings. Every situation is unique to each
individual. As a rule of thumb, Charton Manor and the Aid Fund will want to
satisfy themselves that when it is time for you to go home you can continue
to support yourself financially in the way you did before coming to Charton
Manor.
How long are grants available for?
The length of grants depends on the resources that The Aid Fund has at any given
time and is at the discretion of the Trustees of The Aid Fund.
After The Aid Fund grants run out and I still need
Christian Science nursing care, what happens?
The Hawthorn Trust Benevolent Fund is available to meet the shortfall.
Do I have to repay the financial assistance I receive?
No. Should your financial circumstances change you may like to make a donation to
either Fund which can go towards benefiting someone else in the future.
How long can one stay at Charton Manor?
For as long as you have a nursing need and are actively working with a
Journal-listed practitioner to overcome your need for Christian Science nursing care.
